March is always one of the crazy months. I am not sure why it always falls in March, but I know in my household it has almost nothing to do with sports, but everything to do with theater.
“All the world’s a stage” gets a little old sometimes here in good ol’ Dover. My husband, The Captain, is usually stuck smack in the middle of his musical at the high school and I am stuck right in the middle of choreographing it. This is the month of late nights for him, ones where I walk on eggshells upon his arrival because he tired and cranky from the 12 plus hours of work. With phrases such as, “these kids don’t care about this show” to “it will be what it is,” my month wonderfully flows along (insert sarcasm here!)
But no madness is complete without the addition of a “must-tryout for” show at the community theater. This would be “The Wizard of Oz” (Oz for short because in the theater it is cool to shorten things – it sounds like you are “in the know”). So, let’s add to the madness. The Captain gets the part as the Tin Man. Which is awesome but, wow, let’s add to our March fever. Then, my children want to be munchkins. They tryout (mommy takes them – good mommy) and they, too, get parts in the production. Which is really awesome and I am so thrilled for them. However, that leaves me to be chauffeur, taxi driver, and single parent. Again. Retail therapy for March? Yes, please.
